Motorola MBP25-2 Wireless 2.4 GHz Video Baby Monitor LCD Color Screen and Two Cameras, 2.4"

When you have more than one child, or even twins, it can be expensive to buy more than one baby monitor to place in the nursery. Why buy two units, when you can monitor two children at the same time. One of the cameras can even be placed in a second room, if you don’t have a second child yet. The Motorola baby monitor not only has a variety of features to use, but is also affordable, and best of all, it actually works properly.

The first thing I noticed about the Motorola unit is that it comes with two full-color cameras, in addition to the two-way sound, for monitoring and communication. Both cameras are quite sturdy, and can be physically attached to the crib or wall, with the addition of some screws. If you have two kids, they can both be monitored at night, saving you a lot of aggravation from having to run back and forth. You can simply check the screen to see if they’re doing all right.

What’s really neat about this unit is that it operates by using 2.4 GHz FHSS wireless technology, so you don’t have a ton of wires and cables running all over the place. If you have young children, you know how they like to tug and grab objects. The wireless technology is state-of-the-art and offers fewer chances of a dropped signal. This means that there are fewer chances of you missing out on something important happening in your twin’s bedroom.

The video monitor has a 2.4” LCD video screen, so you can keep an eye on your infants. There’s also a night vision feature, so you can leave their lights turned off at night, while still being able to see them with the infrared light technology.

A convenient two-way communication will allow you to not only hear your babies as they make noises in their room, but will also allow you to communicate with them as well. You can soothe them to sleep, or sing them a lullaby, to help them go back to sleep again, all without having to leave your comfortable bed late at night. The sound remains clear, so your child can understand you when you are talking through the speaker. You also don’t need to leave the video on all evening. You can set it to only sound, and the unit will stay charged for much longer.

There’s also an intercom function on this unit, so you can communicate with another caregiver who is in the baby’s room. It’ll save you from a trip or two back and forth each day.

The Motorola Wireless Camera and Unit has an excellent range of up to 520 feet away, allowing you to set it up from one end of your home to the other. When you’re out of range an alarm will sound on the unit, so you won’t have to leave it up to guesswork in trying to figure out if you should move your twins closer to you. The best baby monitor for twins should have warnings in case the unit is taken out of range of the two cameras, or if the unit is running low on power. There’s also a handy low battery alert to alert you to when your unit needs charging, so you won’t miss out on anything that the twins are doing in their room. You’ll have time to plug it back in, and the unit can still be used, even when plugged into the wall.

Both alerts are important, as you need to remain in constant communication with your twins at all times.

Everything you need in a baby monitor for twins is included in the box. There are two cameras, an LCD monitoring unit with full color screen, one battery pack for the parent unit, and three power adaptors, plus a users guide and a guide start guide to help you get the Motorola baby monitor unit set up quickly. There’s not much installation you need to do, except remove from packaging, set up, and plug the unit into the wall to charge up. You could probably figure out how to use it without reading the instructions, but you don’t want to miss out on all the cool features, so do give the whole pamphlet a look.

One of the few things I didn’t like about this monitor was that the battery life was quite low, at about 2.5 hours. While it’s possible to leave it on the charger while I’m in bed at night, it becomes an issue when I’m running all over the home, tidying up during the day, and I can’t keep the unit with me at all times. I suppose in a few year’s time the technology may be at a point where a battery charge can be stored for longer than a few hours. I’m not certain if another baby monitor for twins would take a longer charge, but I know that quality would be sacrificed.

One other slight drawback to the unit, which may not bother the average parent is that there isn’t a split video screen that you can view concurrently on your LCD screen. The screen will flip back and forth between the two cameras every ten seconds. This shouldn’t be too much of a issue, especially considering that the screen isn’t all that big to being with, and it’s better to see one baby at time.

The price of the Motorola baby monitor for twins is quite reasonable, considering that it includes wireless technology, as well as two cameras, and the unit is reliable and operates properly. Other similar baby monitors on offer seem to have some issues in the operation of the unit, and when you have infants, you don’t want to sacrifice their safety for a unit that’s not going to work properly.

The Motorola Wireless baby monitor for twins will definitely satisfy your need to keep an eye on them, while you run through your errands of the day. You’ll be confident that you’ve made the right choice, after reading all the baby monitor reviews on our Baby Monitor Review website.

Its reliable technology will be there when you need it, never falling out of range, or refusing to turn on, like some of the other baby monitor units on the market today.
